New Year's Prayer

Father we approach your throne of grace this new year in the name of Jesus. We resolve this year to flood heaven's gate with our praise and prayers. We resolve to live our lives in order to please you. We resolve to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. We resolve to have our ears attentive to the voice of God. We resolve to order our lives according to the precepts established in your word. We resolve to walk in the straight and narrow way. We resolve to lift our voices in praise and adoration of you. We resolve this year to lay aside every weight and run the race in order to win the prize. As you said to Abraham,  you are our shield and our exceedingly great reward. We resolve to bring honor to your name this year. We resolve to serve you with gladness. We pray that you would enable us to keep our resolution this year. We look forward to your second coming. Keep us ready Lord with oil in our lamps. Let your Holy Spirit fill us this year and let us glorify your name. In Jesus name we make this prayer. Lead us in paths of righteousness for your name sake. Amen.

Christmas Prayer

Lord we come to you this auspicious day set aside to commemorate your birth. We thank you Lord for laying aside your divinity and taking on humanity in order to redeem mankind. As it has been said let us make room in our hearts for Christ to be birthed in us. As the song says "let every heart, prepare Him room" Let the light of the world illuminate the darkness in our lives this Christmas and always. Let us make you welcome in our lives. Father, as we see the darkness envelop the earth this year, we pray that your Spirit will hover over the darkness and that you would speak light into being. We take this time to plead the blood of Jesus as a shield of protection around us. We pray that no weapon formed against us will prosper. Protect us from sickness and disease and from every calamity the enemy throws at us. We take up the shield of faith to quench the fiery darts of the enemy. We ask for your protection over our lives in these last days. We enthroned you King and Lord over our lives, our families, our neighborhoods and our countries. We pray this in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer for guidance

We approach your throne of grace this morning in Jesus name. We ask you to guide our steps. You said in your word that the steps of the righteous are ordered by God.  We ask that you direct our path and show us the right way to take. You order our steps Lord. Again as you said to Jeremiah,  I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you the future you hope for. Father sometimes we don't know which path to take. We pray for a listening ear and a hearing heart so that we can make the right decisions. Close those doors and opportunities which are not right for us and open those doors which are made for us. Let not the enemy triumph over us. We nullify every plan of the enemy to distract and divert our attention from the Lord. You are our strength and our strong tower. We come to you for protection from the enemy's attacks. We plead the blood of Jesus as a perimeter of protection over us and our families. Thank you Lord for hearing the cry of our hearts. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Call to repentance

Lord we come to you this Holy day of atonement, Yom Kippur in repentance for our sins and the sins of our land. We ask you Lord to cleanse us from unrighteousness and lead us in paths of righteousness for your name's sake. Lord we repent for lawlessness in our land. Cleanse us Lord from the sins that so easily beset us. Blessed is the land whose God is the Lord. We decree your Lordship in our Nation. We call forth holiness and righteousness to prevail in our neighborhoods. We repent for the disregard for You and Your laws in our lives and in our families. We long to crown you the Lord of Lords in every aspect of our lives. Lord we cry for holiness in our hearts and our innermost thoughts. Help us to walk the walk of faith. We trust and believe that you are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think according to the power that works in us. Once again Lord we ask that holiness and righteousness prevail in our lives, our families and in our neighborhoods. We repent of all wrongdoing. We consecrate our lives to serve you. We truly crown you the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. In Jesus name. Amen.
