Psalm 5:12
(NKJV) For Thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt Thou compass him about as with a shield.
(TPT) Lord, how wonderfully you bless the righteous. Your favor wraps around each one and covers them under your canopy of kindness and joy.
(VOICE) You, O Eternal, are the One who lays all good things in the laps of the right-hearted. Your blessings surround them like a shield.

The verse above shows that the Lord's blessing is upon the redeemer, those who are made righteous by Christ' sacrifice. His favor wraps us around. The favor of God is to be coveted. Once we seek God and order our lives according to His precepts, He promises to bestow His favor upon us. King David said Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.  In case you haven't noticed we are no longer in the garden of Eden. We live in a fallen world and there is wickedness all around us. However, the light of the Gospel, dispels the surrounding darkness. As long as we are walking according to biblical principles, the light of the Lord will illuminate our path. Thy Word is a light unto my feet and a lamp unto my path. The Lord is my light and my salvation. Jesus said I am the Light of the world, whoever follows me will not walk in darkness. God said to Abraham, I am your shield and your exceedingly great reward. We look for the favor of God in our lives. Although material blessings are nice, spiritual blessings are infinitely better. God's presence to lead and guide us is to be cherished. The unction of the Holy Spirit to make us function is another thing money cannot buy. Obviously salvation of our children and families can only be obtained from God. Matthew 6:31 Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. God knows that we need material things to live in this world. He promises to supply every need. In closing, give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, shall men give unto you. Praying that God's favor surrounds you and that every need is supplied. In Jesus name, amen.
